On International Women’s Day, five women’s associations in the department received their beekeeping kits: “Les Ruches de l’Espoir” is under way.
Tanda town hall was packed on 8 March 2026. For International Women’s Day, the Douassoh Foundation had chosen a theme that sums up the day’s ambition: “Women of Tanda: taking charge of local development through production and entrepreneurship”. Isabelle Boblaï Douassoh was its patron.
Five associations, five kits
The highlight of the day: the handover of beekeeping kits for the “Les Ruches de l’Espoir” project. The women’s associations of Tanda, Béléoulé, Toundiani, Guiméré and Bouko received them from the administrative and traditional authorities.
Produce, start a business, prosper
Beekeeping needs little land and adds to farming activities: it can become a lasting source of income for rural women. Next steps: training the women beekeepers, setting up the apiaries and organising the sale of honey.
